Billy Bodfish was
one of just a few athletes from the Arctic Slope Region competing
in the 2006 Arctic Winter Games. Billy competed in four Inuit
Games events: One Foot High Kick, Knuckle Hop, Alaskan High Kick
and One Hand Reach. He won a Gold Ulu in the Alaskan High Kick
and Bronze Ulu in the One Hand Reach.
This was Billy's first time competing in the Arctic Winter Games, but his previous competition experience in the Native Youth Olympics in 2003 to 2005 and the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics (WEIO) in 2004, helped prepare him.
Billy holds Native Youth Olympics State Records in the One Arm Reach and Alaskan High Kick.
Olgoonik Corporation and Olgoonik Development are proud of Billy's performance and wish him success in his future athletic goals. |
