What is an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC)?
Alaska Native Corporation or ANC means any Regional Corporation, Village Corporation, Urban Corporation, or Group Corporation organized under the laws of the State of Alaska in accordance with the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.

What is the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA)?
In 1971 Congress passed the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) which authorized the conveyance of 40 million acres of public land and payment of $962.5 million to 13 newly created regional corporations. Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC) was incorporated in 1972 under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. Olgoonik is an Alaska Native Village Corporation representing the Inupiat Eskimo residents of the village of Wainwright, Alaska.
