Position Overview:
This position is responsible for assisting the Camp Manager in providing all services, operations, and maintenance for the base camp. Incumbent will assist with managing overseas employment issues relating to all OMS/KBR employees, sub contractors, or vendors assigned to or working in the camp. The Deputy Camp Manager will attend meetings with the ATA Camp Manager and others in order to monitor all aspects of the project.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists with management of all aspects of the assigned camp.
- Supports implementation and maintenance of accounting and record keeping processes.
- The Deputy Camp Manager prepares written and oral reports for the Camp Manager as requested.
- Reviews and makes recommendations regarding general camp operations.
- Acts as Camp Manager during Camp Manager’s absence.
- Assists with implementing and maintaining safe working practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervisory responsibilities associated with this position may include supervision of professional, technical, clerical, and/or labor staff in operating the camp.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
Education and/or Experience:
At least three years of related camp management experience required. Five years of directly related experience is preferred. This position requires basic computer literacy; this includes use of word processing, spreadsheets and e-mail programs.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to occasionally stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; operated vehicles and office equipment, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, and distance vision. Successful applicant must be able to manage a position that may present high levels of work related stress effectively.
Work Environment:
Incumbent will work in a general camp environment which may be in a hostile region of the host country. Some travel both domestically and internationally may be required based on business demands.
