This position is located in Arlington, VA. No relocation benefits available.
Position Overview:
Responsible for the evaluation of new and emerging technologies, to include radio frequency (RF) and optical, to provide technical reports to senior government officials highlighting possible security vulnerabilities and make appropriate recommendations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Trains other Department of State personnel on the identification and analysis of digital signal analysis and recognition, conduct open source data mining on reported vulnerabilities.
- Generates RF environment baselines (worldwide) and document selected vulnerabilities via laboratory demonstration.
- Assist in the planning of policies and guidelines involving state-of-the-art equipment and its implementation into State Department resources.
- Gathers information on new technologies and any previous associated research found on those technologies.
- Identifies emanation found not previously recognized.
- Implements and maintains a database of signal parameters for future easy recognition.
- Assists in the testing the vulnerabilities associated with, but not limited to GSM, GPRS, CDMA, Bluetooth, 802.11a/b/g (Wi-Fi), FSO and RFID technology.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
Must have at least five years of experience in RF technologies. Experience in advanced radio wave propagation theory, digital communication systems and bit stream analysis recognition is strongly desired. Must have strong verbal and written communications skills. Must have excellent PC skills including advanced knowledge in such applications as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Access.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must posses a Top Secret Clearance with immediate SCI eligibility.
