Work Program

The Vision of Olgoonik is to provide employment and career development opportunities to Olgoonik's shareholders and their families. To carry out this Vision, a community Work Program was formed in 2000. The Work Program provides participants with valuable work experience and on-the-job training, an introduction to construction career options, and an opportunity to make hands-on improvements to their community's facilities.

Managed by Olgoonik Specialty Contractors, the 2008 Summer Work Program was highly successful with the greatest number of participants since its inception. Teams of local hire personnel worked on a number of construction projects in Wainwright such as: renovations and an addition to the Hotel; various upgrades to the Store, Shop and Olgoonik Corporation Office; as well as a complex project involving the move and reestablishment of the Personnel Camp.
