OC Board Requests, Accepts Resignation of Director

WAINWRIGHT, AK – Olgoonik Corporation (OC) Board of Directors requested and accepted Director Joseph I. Ahmaogak’s resignation from his position. OC Board President & CEO Hugh Patkotak, Sr. and Chairman Oliver Peetook have issued this joint statement to Olgoonik’s shareholders:

Yesterday, following a unanimous Board decision, we requested and accepted the resignation of Director Joseph I. Ahmaogak from our Board of Directors. This was a difficult day for many of us who have a long history of serving alongside Joe on our Board and in our community. We appreciate the many contributions Joe made over the years to advocate for shareholders and promote better understanding of our people, our culture, and the role and capabilities of Alaska Native Corporations to those interested in the Arctic.

Our first priority as a Board, now and always, is to provide clear and stable direction for our corporation and its shareholders. As a Board, we are governed by the policies and procedures we have in place and will continue the work we were elected to do.  We will keep shareholders informed of any changes in the coming months. Thank you for your trust and understanding.

As always, shareholders may reach out to the corporation with questions through our Contact Us page.
