February Safety Tips: Emergency Preparedness

February 12, 2016

Print Friendly, PDF & Email Print | PDF

Having a plan is the first step in the emergency preparedness process. Consider talking with family, friends, and neighbors about primary and secondary meeting places should phone and internet become unavailable. Have a well-stocked emergency kit with food, water, prescription medication and basic medical supplies. Keep copies of important documents such as birth certificates, state-issued identification and/or your passport and insurance information in an alternate location like a safe deposit box.

Visit Ready.gov for more suggestions on emergency kits, evacuation plans and to find other important preparedness information.

Please contact HSE with any questions or comments.
